In this beloved classic, watch as the lines between reality and fantasy blur in a mystical forest filled with mischievous fairies, confused lovers, and an amateur theater troupe attempting to put on a play. As the sun sets, Uki Public School becomes the stage for romance, comedy, and a touch of magical mayhem. From the whimsical plots of fairy king Oberon and his jester, Puck, to the hilariously heartfelt attempts of the town's tradesmen to stage their own drama, this play has something to charm every member of the family.
Don't miss your chance to experience the magic, laughter, and love of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Bring your picnic blankets and prepare to be whisked away to a world where anything is possible and where the ordinary turns extraordinary in the blink of an eye. From their website:
We’re a touring troupe of actors – Jo Bloom, Charles Mayer, Sontaan Hopson and Ciarán O’Riordan, with storyteller Nathan Meola, and we perform all the plays in our repertoire in magnificent outdoor and indoor spaces, to music composed by Brandon Read, in lighting designed by Adam Applebaum, with photography by Syl Marie.
We also perform Shakespeare school incursions from primary to Year 12, so they get it, fall in love with it, and thrive in it at school.
We adapt Shakespeare plays to be told by 4 characters, with the actors taking one character each. It’s clear, and it’s magical.
Who we are
We use Shakespeare’s plays because every character shares with the audience the innermost truthful secrets of their soul, and the language used to convey the wonders and mysteries of the natural world reminds us that we have superpowers; a celebratory return to magic to unify communities.
The actors meet the audience individually before and after every performance, in an ongoing commitment to consistent connection and service.
We demonstrate sustainability in people, in policies, in practice and in programming. We’re a solar-powered, long-term employing, community-connected, eco-story telling, caring career actor company.

From CYS's website:
Move between dimensions with these four powerful characters as they try to heal the chaos of love via Fairyland, the Forest, and the Palace’s thinly veiled layers of existence. Offering a comedy full of truth, love, joy, colour, expansion and expression. It invites us to run full-speed towards what we love in celebration and joy.
In our version there are only FOUR CHARACTERS who tell the story, reduced from 32! We do this by observing the characters in different dimensions, which we leap between from time to time – So Demetrius becomes Oberon, Helena Titania, Lysander Puck, and Hermia Peaseblossom – and they perform their parts in the play within the play at the end as Pyramus, Thisbe, the Lion and Chorus. The play is chaotic, and this staging brings clarity, high stakes and higher jinx!
In addition we have a Narrator, Nathan Meola, who is your leader through the tale, initiating the proceedings, checking in on you and the story’s progress twice during the show, and closing the event.
Our aim is to amplify the CLARITY, the MAGIC, the PACE and the STAKES, and the show is an hour and a half.
